Recent Obituaries

In 2013, we moved the obituaries from the printed Bowdoin Magazine to this new dedicated online site. Updated regularly, the improved obituary format better honors our Bowdoin community members and allows additional features that we can’t offer in print, specifically the ability for classmates, families, and friends to post photos and remembrances. We will continue to print a list of recent deaths compiled between issues and full obituaries will appear online here.

Please note: The obituaries posted here began with those from our Fall 2013 issue. We later retroactively posted an additional ten years of our printed obituaries on this site, going back to 2003. Earlier obituaries that were printed in Bowdoin Magazine from 1927 to 1969 can be viewed on the Special Collections website, and 2002 to 2013 editions are available on the Bowdoin Magazine website. Issues from 1970 to 2001 will be available through Special Collections at a later time.

The following is a list of the ten most recent obituaries. You can also search by keyword or browse by class year using the grid to the right.
