Recent Obituaries

As part of Bowdoin Magazine‘s redesign two years ago, we moved the obituaries from the printed magazine to this new dedicated online site. While this move marked a significant change, we believe it is one that serves our entire readership. Updated regularly, the improved obituary format better honors our Bowdoin community members and allows additional features that we can’t offer in print, specifically the ability for classmates, families, and friends to post photos and remembrances. We will continue to print a list of recent deaths compiled between issues and full obituaries will appear online here.

Please note: The obituaries posted here begin with those from our Fall 2013 issue. Earlier obituaries that were printed in Bowdoin Magazine can be viewed in individual issues in our archives. We are in the process of retroactively posting the past ten years of our printed obituaries on this site, a project that will take several weeks to complete.
