Presque Isle- Timothy Ward Currier, born on October 12, 1940, to Dale and Althea Currier, lived a life filled with passion, creativity, and devotion to his family. A graduate of Caribou High School, Tim pursued higher education at Bowdoin College before traveling across the country to refine his craft at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California.

In August of 1973, after many years of courtship, Tim married the love of his life, Barbara McKay. Together, they shared fifty-one years of cherished memories, family adventures, and a life built on love and dedication.

Tim’s passion for photography led to a remarkable career spanning over 30 years. As the founder of Colonial Studio, he captured the essence and personality of countless high school seniors, families, and the natural beauty of outdoor landscapes. His work graced yearbooks, adorned walls, and was featured in Aroostook County tourism advertisements, leaving a lasting legacy in the community.

Beyond his professional achievements, Tim was a man of many talents and interests. He designed and built a post-and-beam home where he raised his family, later adding an indoor riding arena, barn, and studio to support both his work and family life. Tim found joy in camping, hunting, and fishing in the North Maine Woods. In recent years, he enjoyed birdwatching, meticulously recording sightings of the birds that he teased had migrated with him between Maine and Florida.

Tim split his time between Maine and Florida, treasuring every moment spent with his family. In Maine, he enjoyed quality time with his son, Dale Currier, and grandsons, Emmett and Knox. He shared his love of the outdoors with them, teaching them to fish, shoot, and appreciate nature. Tim took great pride in their accomplishments as outdoorsmen and athletes, often cheering them on from the sidelines of soccer and baseball games. Summers at Portage Lake were a highlight, where he fished his favorite deep hole and created lasting memories.

Winters in Englewood, Florida, were spent with his daughter, Jenn Ayer, son-in-law, Aaron Ayer, and eldest grandson, Simon. Tim delighted in watching Simon play tennis, enjoying the Gulf of America, and witnessing Simon grow into a remarkable young man.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, brother, Jeff Currier of Anchorage, AK, and beloved wife, Barbara. He is survived by his children, Dale Currier of Caribou, Maine, and Jenn Ayer of Englewood, Florida, as well as his cherished grandsons, Emmett, Knox, and Simon.
