Alan C. Clark ’66

Alan C. Clark ’66 died on March 25, 2009, in Mentor, Ohio.

He was born on May 6, 1944, in Springfield, Mass., and pre- pared for college at Agawam (Mass.) High School. A member of Sigma Nu fraternity at Bowdoin, he was a National Science Foundation undergraduate research par- ticipant in chemistry. He graduated cum laude, with honors in chemistry, and at commencement was awarded the Ameri- can Institute of Chemists Student Medal for Excellence in Chemistry. He went on to earn his doctorate from Indiana University in 1970. From 1966 to 1974, he held several teaching and research positions at Indiana University, Ohio state University and the University of Cincin- nati. He was employed for 30 years as a research chemist at Lubrizol Corp. in Ohio, retiring in 2004. He is survived by Barbara Rosenbarger, his wife of 39 years; two daughters, Christine Wyrick and Rebecca Britton; a granddaughter; and a sister, Barbara Smith.
