Alan D. Bernstein ’59 died February 16, 2014, in New York City. He was born on January 31, 1938, in New York City, and graduated from the New Lincoln School. He graduated from Bowdoin in 1960, a member of the class of 1959. He earned a master’s degree in 1975 and doctorate in 1979, both in electrical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He taught physics for 10 years at Rutgers University.
