Andrew L. McCarthy ’64 died on July 9, 2016, in Weymouth, Massachusetts.

Andrew L. McCarthy, age 74, passed away at South Shore Hospital on July 9, 2016, after a lengthy period of failing health. Andrew was born June 23, 1942, the son of Louise (Wright) McCarthy and Andrew L. McCarthy, Jr. Andrew graduated from Rockland High School in 1960 and later from Bridgewater State College, achieving bachelor’s and master’s degrees as well as a CAGS. He taught science at Randolph High School where he was also a football coach. In addition, he was a building contractor and small-business owner. Andrew is survived by his two sons, Andrew IV and his wife Julie, and Brian and his wife Kelly, all of Dorchester. He also is survived by his mother, Louise McCarthy, and by his sisters: Kathleen Looney of Rockland; Eileen Kendall of Groton; Maureen Heard of Pepperell; and Patricia Knapp of Groton, as well as several nephews and a niece
