Cameron D. Bailey ’58 died on May 31, 2018, in Cromwell, Connecticut.
Cameron David Bailey of Cromwell, Connecticut, died peacefully on May 31, 2018. He was eighty-two years old. Born in Portland, Maine to Rockwood and Alice Bailey. Cameron was married for sixty years to wife Donna Hall Bailey. He leaves his two children Dorothy Rebecca Bailey Smith, wife of Roland David Smith and his son Peter Hall Bailey and his wife Deborah Bailey. There are seven grandchildren, David, Thomas, Rachel, Andrew, Justin, Samantha and Natasha plus two great-grandchildren, Henry and Cameron. Music played a large part in his life starting in Grammar school on the harmonica and later the clarinet. Later Cameron found great pleasure singing in the Silk City, graduating from Bowdoin College, in Maine, and then entering Wesleyan University he received his Master of Arts in Teaching. He taught at Glastonbury High School, Manchester Community College and at Middlesex Community College.
Took clarinet lessons from Frank Rigby on Lawn Avenue and knew Cameron well. We both attended Maine Music Camp at Farmington together. A great guy and a great musician.
