Carl B. Brewer ’51 died on January 22, 2016, in Brewer, Maine.

BREWER – Carl B. Brewer, 86, of Ashland, peacefully passed away Friday, January 22, 2016, at Brewer Rehabilitation Facility in Brewer. He was born in Ashland on January 18, 1930, the son of Gilman L. and Ruby (Stone) Brewer.
Mr. Brewer was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Bowdoin College, and for many years taught Latin at Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ, and at Hebron Academy in Maine.
He is survived by his sister Jane Bergquist and her husband Clint of Easton, CT, brother-in-law Leland McClarie of Hermon, and several cousins. He was the beloved uncle of fifteen nieces and nephews, and many grand- nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Carl’s many friends in Ashland for their various kindnesses over the years. In phone calls to family members, he always remarked on what faithful friends he had nearby. In particular, the family expresses gratitude to Bill and Sheila Nemer.
Mr. Brewer was predeceased by his brother Robert Brewer, half-brother Rodney Brewer, and sisters Marjorie McClarie and Joan Wilson.
