David Vinson, Jr. ’81 died on April 1, 2024 in Hedgesville, West Virginia.

David Vinson, Jr. ’81

David Vinson, Jr., known as “Kookie” to his friends and family, passed away in the comfort of his home on April 1, 2024. He was 65 years young.  He was born on March 30, 1959.

One of David’s principal beliefs was the pursuit of education.  During his youth, David earned numerous awards, accolades, and honors.  After graduating from Middletown High School– top of his class and well-liked — David earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Oberlin College, his Doctor of Medicine degree at Case Western Reserve University, his Master of Public Health degree at the University of Illinois, and was working towards his doctoral degree at Walden University.

David was preceded in death by his father, David Vinson, Sr.; his mother, Christine Woodfin, and his sister Maria (ReRe) Parson.  He is survived by his children, Leah Taylor and David Alexander Vinson; his sisters, Marcia (Na-Na) Vinson and Natalie Edwards (Ronald), and his brothers Dwight Vinson and Frank Parson, Jr. (Jill), and all those who loved him and will miss him greatly.
