George Libby died on June 29, 2024, in Bowdoinham, Maine.

George E. Libby

George E. Libby, 88, passed away on June 29, 2024, after a brief illness, with family by his side.

He was born in Portland on Oct. 12, 1935, the son of Irvin and Marion Libby.

George worked for many years as a grounds foreman for Bowdoin College.

He enjoyed going to fairs, working cattle, anything outside, and particularly time spent with family.

George was predeceased by his parents; wife, Darlene Libby; children George Libby Jr., and Tammy Dershem.

He survived by daughters Melinda Burrell and husband, Stewart, of Bowdoinham, Hope Libby of Augusta, Heather Ruona of Richmond; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
