George S. Hebb Jr. ’44 died May 31, 2014, in Winchester, Mass.
He was born on March 28, 1921, in Malden, Mass., and prepared for college at Winchester High School and Kimball Union Academy.
A member of Zeta Psi fraternity, he graduated early from Bowdoin in 1943 and served to lieutenant in the Navy during World War II, where he commanded a landing craft on Omaha Beach on D-day. After leaving the service, he returned to Winchester and worked as a tanner in the family business. He is survived by daughter Sara Carpenter and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Bugg Hebb, whom he married on June 27, 1964.
