Gerald L. Boothby died on July 23, 2022, in Dover, New Hampshire.

Dover, NH – Gerald Lee Boothby, 75, of Dover, NH, passed away on July 23, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Lois Ann (Foote) and James Boothby on May 29, 1947, in Wolfeboro, NH.
Gerald (Jerry) graduated from Kennett High School, earned a BA degree in history from UNH, and an MBA in accounting and finance from PSU. He was a lifelong advocate of education. He spent his entire career working in finance and administration at UNH, Cornell University, Bowdoin College, Elizabethtown College, and most recently as VP and chief financial officer at Guilford College. He served on numerous boards of trustees over the years. In addition, Jerry was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jerry loved traveling, fishing, cribbage, ice cream, candy, and his beloved Red Sox. He enjoyed spending time with family and was known for his sense of humor and his empathetic and patient nature.
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Louise Anne (Cotter) Boothby; his children Caitlin Tilton and her husband Rob of Englewood, FL; Jeffrey Boothby of Greensboro, NC; Rebecca Pike and her husband Zack of Greenland, NH; Cynthia Cincotti and her husband Daniele of Greensboro, NC; his three grandchildren Emma, Grace, and Madelyn; two brothers Jim and Edward; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, stepmother Sharkée Boothby, and sister Daphne Knox.
