Hector Romeo Arbour ’66

Hector Romeo Arbour ’66 died on November 29, 2007, in Kalispell, Montana.

Born in Augusta, Maine, on December 16, 1943, he prepared for college at Cony High School there and became a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity at Bowdoin. He received a master’s degree from Russell Sage College in Albany, N.Y. He was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company in the Medicare claims department for 25 years in Rhode Island, Maryland, Massachusetts, and New York. He was elected a town justice while living in Voorheesville, N.Y. After his retirement in 1995, he moved to Montana. He was a photographer for The Kalispell News and later worked for Karen Weyer Photography. He was a past member of the Elks Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Flathead Shrine Club. He was chairman of the Shrine Circus in Kalispell for several years and was chosen Shriner of the Year for 2001. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Arbour; his mother, Maria Arbour of Augusta; two daughters, Nicole Lennon of Tampa, Fla., and Renay Arbour of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a son, David Arbour of Port Richey, Fla.; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Christine I. Arbour of Augusta, Maine, and Jacqueline Foley of Hallowell, Maine.
