A.J. Hammerle ’45 died on September 29, 2018, in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Albert Joseph Hammerle, 95, died September 29 at home in Northampton, Mass.
Born in the Bronx, he attended Bowdoin College for one year before joining the US Army, serving for three years in an anti-aircraft division in Europe in WWII. He later worked for over forty years at Penn Mutual Life Insurance and served for sixteen years as a volunteer firefighter in Hawthorne, New York. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen, and his sister, Louise. He is survived by his three daughters, Karen Selines, Susan Hammerle and Wendy Hammerle, six grandchildren, and four great grandsons.
