James H. Faux G’68 died on January 8, 2023, in Keene, New Hampshire.

James “Jim” H. Faux, 81, of Keene and formerly of Brockport/Spencerport, NY., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2023, with his wife and children by his side.
He was born a son of the late Mary E. (Harrison) and James B. Harder on January 15, 1941, in Buffalo, NY. Jim was a proud graduate of Canisius High School (Buffalo, NY), and majored in Mathematics at the University of Buffalo. He earned graduate degrees at Bowdoin College (M.A.) and the University of Rochester (Ed.D.).
He began his career in education teaching high school mathematics in the City of Rochester (NY) and Greece (NY), and retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Business in the Spencerport School District in 1996. Upon retirement, in addition to spending more time with his family and personal interests, Jim started a consulting business with a few of his colleagues, sharing his many years of experience in education, technology, and administration with other schools and organizations.
Jim was a family man, enjoying life with his wife and children. He was also a lifelong fisherman, photographer, puzzle enthusiast, and enjoyed astronomy, hiking, and reading – among countless other activities and interests.
Dr. Faux is survived by his wife, Josephine Shepherd Faux of Keene, NH; his children: Jennifer (Daniel) Fauxsmith of Belmont, MA, David (Michelle) Faux of Stow, MA, and Stephen (Marie) Faux of Dorchester, MA; and grandchildren: Greyson Faux, Silas Faux, Evelyn Faux, and Daniel Faux. Jim was predeceased by his father, James Harder; step-father, Frederick Faux; and mother, Mary Elizabeth Faux
