James L. Garth ’64 died on June 20, 2018 in Danville, Kentucky.

James Leonard Garth “JL” of Frankfort died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Charleston Health Care of Danville.
Music was the love of JL’s life, and he was an accomplished musician. He studied music while in high school at Kentucky State College (now University), under the late Mr. Harry Baker.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Ruth Brooks, and brother Frank E. Brooks.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two sisters, Toni L. Brooks of Canton, Mississippi, and Jacqueline Garth Buck of Norcross, Georgia; two uncles, George R. Withers (Barbara) of Columbus, Ohio, and Eugene Buford of Oberlin, Ohio; two aunts, Lydia Alcorn of Lancaster, and Bertha Withers of Frankfort; several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and other relatives and friends. James will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
