John Douglas Wallace ’41 died on June 26, 2005, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Born on July 23, 1918, in Lamar, CO, he prepared for college at Montclair High School in New Jersey and at the Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts and became a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity at Bowdoin. Following his graduation in 1941, he served in Alaska during World War II from 1941 to 1945 while in the U.S. Army Air Forces, attaining the rank of captain. In 1945, he joined Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, OH, where he was employed as a packaging engineer. He retired in 1982. He was married in 1945 to Marie De Vries, who predeceased him, and is survived by a son, Richard Wallace; a daughter, Jean Wallace; and a granddaughter.
