Kenneth G. Griswold G’64 died on October 21, 2017, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Kenneth Guy Griswold of North Reading and formerly of Rochester, NY, died Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Cambridge after a lengthy illness. He was 86.
Born in Rochester Sept. 8, 1931, he was the son of the late Guy H. and Delia (Bush) Griswold. In 1953, he graduated from Bates College with a B.S. before getting his M.A. at the University of Rochester and his M.S. at Bowdoin College (M.S.).
Griswold worked in Rochester for Matthews and Field Lumber and as a math teacher at Monroe High School. He was also an instructor at Salem State College. Griswold has been a resident of North Reading for the past fifty-three years.
Griswold was a beloved teacher for more than thirty years. His passion for educating, his sense of humor and his quick wit made him a campus favorite. His strength of character, positive outlook and humble nature helped him overcome many obstacles. He was a friend to all he met. His great accomplishments were his sixty-three-year-three year marriage to his wife, Pat (Patricia), and the seven children they raised. He beamed with pride any time he talked about his family.
Besides his wife, Griswold is survived by his sons, Keith (Pam), Brian (Michele Varallo) and Kyle (Caroline), all of North Reading, and Matthew (Jennifer) of Shrewsbury; his daughters, Nancy Griswold and Tracy Griswold, both of North Reading, and Natalie Griswold (Bill Drury) of Lynnfield. Griswold also had eight grandchildren: Adam, Nathan, Michaela, Drew, Alec, Kenny, Elliot and Ethan.
