Lawrence F. Deane ’46 died December 12, 2013, in Florence, Mass. He was born on October 20, 1923, in Holyoke, Mass., and prepared for college at Rosary High School and Bridgton Academy. In 1942, he entered Bowdoin—lettering in baseball, basketball and football—but left to follow his two older brothers into World War II. He served in the Navy as an aviation radioman third class and was awarded a Certificate of Honor. Following the war, he graduated from Bowdoin in 1950, remaining a member of the class of 1946. He went on to work in sales for several companies, most notably Yale Locks & Hardware and Nicholson Files. He was a member of Annunciation Parish for forty years. He is survived by his partner, Carol Ann Korytoski. He was predeceased by sisters Mary Deane Griffin, Nora Deane, and Rose Deane; and by brothers Edward and Francis Deane.
