Leslie G. Leonetti ’57 died on June 23, 2020 in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.

Leslie Gerard Leonetti of Cranberry Township, PA, passed away at home on June 23, 2020. He was 84. His beloved wife of twenty years, Sandra Leonetti, was at his side. Les was born on August 27, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, to Thomas and Kay (Karten) Leonetti. He attended Brooklyn’s Poly Prep high school, graduating with honors in 1953. 1958 was a memorable year for Les, in which he earned a business degree from Bethany College in West Virginia, married his first wife, Bettie Beck, and entered the US Navy as an intelligence officer. After his honorable discharge in 1960, he worked for US Steel as an accountant, then spent the mid-seventies as Vice-President of Sales in Wheeling Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and finished his career with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Western Pennsylvania, retiring in the early 90’s. Les was an accomplished athlete. With Poly Prep’s track team, he won numerous medals for individual and relay-team events, and likewise earned tennis trophies for Bethany College and for the US Navy. He was a devoted Steelers fan, and in his later years was an avid golfer. You were a good man. Thank you for everything. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his son, John Leonetti and daughter-in-law, Sandy Leonetti; brother, Jerry Leonetti; nephew, Kenneth Leonetti and niece, Stacy Wukitsevits.
