Nicholas G. Spicer ’60 died of cancer on September 4, 2009.
He was born on October 30, 1938, in Detroit, and prepared for college at Farmington (Mich.) High School. At Bowdoin, he was a James Bowdoin Scholar and a member of Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. He graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1963, and practiced law in Birmingham, Mich., for more than 30 years. He was most proud of preserving the buildings and land of his birthplace, known as Longacre House and Heritage Park in Farmington. He is survived by wife, Elizabeth B. Spicer; a son, Paul Spicer; a daughter, Anne Kast; a brother, Charles Spicer; two sisters, Elizabeth and Eleanor; and five grandchildren.
