Ralph S. Turner ’49 died on July 22, 2014, in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

Major Ralph Stanley Turner, Sr. age 92, died on Tuesday July 22, 2014 in hospice care at the Lakes at Litchfield, Pawleys Island, SC.
Major Turner was born on July 10, 1922, in Sanford, ME. He entered the Army in 1941, retiring in 1961. He then served with distinction as a career Army civilian intelligence officer until retirement at Fort George G Meade, MD in 1988. His military and civilian tours of duty included multiple overseas assignments in England, France, Okinawa, Germany, Thailand, and The Philippines. Major Turner and his late wife, Barbara were long-time residents of the Lakes at Litchfield. She died in 2008. Major Turner married his second wife, Virginia Hueftle, at the Lakes, May 16, 2009.
He is survived by Virginia; his brother, Allan Turner of Tucson, AZ, his sister, Elaine Turner of Columbus, OH, his daughter, Lee Barbara Kara of Gainesville, VA; his sons, Ralph Stanley Turner, Jr. of Severna Park, MD and Walter Thomas Turner of Catonsville, MD; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
