Richard B. Ladd ’62 died on July 18, 2021, in Chester, Maryland.

Richard B. (Dick) Ladd, 80, died on Sunday, July 18, 2021. He was born on August 13, 1940, in Quincy, MA, to Robert and Harriet Ladd. In 1962, he married Edith Russell and they remained married until her death. In 2000 he married Sabra Ashley. A proud graduate of Bowdoin College, Dick retired from the Army in 1982 and joined the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations. He was appointed the Deputy Undersecretary of the Army, after which he ran a consulting firm in D.C. for many years. During his retirement, he served as an Anne Arundel County Councilman and as a member of the Army Science Board. Dick is survived by his wife, Sabra, two children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
