Robert C. Hitchcock ’52 died on October 27, 2025, in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Robert C. Hitchcock ’52
Robert C. Hitchcock, age 96, formerly of Huntington, CT, died peacefully, with his family by his side, on October 27, 2025, at Bethel Health Care Center. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy L. Hitchcock. He leaves behind his two daughters, Dorrie Duda, her husband, Raymond F. Duda, Jr., of Ridgefield, CT, and Beci Breeze of St. Charles, MO, his grandchildren, Rhiannon, Raymond, Stephen, Nicholas Duda, James Breeze, and his great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Leah Duda. He also leaves a sister, Carolyn Monachelli of Stratford, CT, and three nieces and one nephew.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, son of John H. and Dorothy M. Hitchcock. They moved to Worcester, MA, in 1933, where he grew up. He attended Worcester Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Bowdoin College.
Bob was a branch manager for Lincoln National Bank/Hartford National Bank in Stamford. He worked for GE Credit Corp in Stamford, and for Friden Alcatel in Hayward, California.
He was a musician, substituting for various church organists on occasional Sunday mornings. He was a volunteer instructor for the AARP Driver Safety Program for several years.
