Robert Douglas Burnett ’62 died on August 25, 2021, in Middletown, New York.

Middletown, NY – Robert Douglass Burnett, 81, of Pine Bush, New York, entered into rest, Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in Middletown, New York.
Robert was a native of Schenectady, New York, and he was the son of the late Robert Elting Burnett and Betty Mucklow Burnett. He is a graduate of Linton High School in Schenectady and Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME. He was an innovative artist whose paintings were inspired by nature and a love of moths and insects. He was a excellent craftsman whose career spanned experiences as a general contractor, carpenter and skilled cabinet maker. He will be remembered as a colorful storyteller of his travels and life experiences and for his love of all people.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jill Ann Burnett. He is survived by his former wife, Lynne Digby, and their three children: Sarah C. Burnett and husband Matthew T. Bennett of Goshen, NY; Robert F.M. Burnett and wife Harriet H. Burnett of Crested Butte, CO; John A.D. Burnett and wife Laura P. Burnett of Park City, UT; his brother, Walter M. Burnett of Cockeysville, MD and seven grandchildren -Tessa, Meaghan, Ellie, Finn, Easton, Robbie and Wylder.
