Robert F. Eddy ’70

Robert “Bob” F. Eddy, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on December 5, 1946, Bob was the beloved son of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Brennan) Eddy. He grew up with a deep appreciation for family and his strong values guided his life and warmed all those fortunate enough to know him. Bob graduated from Melrose High School in 1966, Bowdoin College in 1970 and earned a master’s degree from Northeastern University.

Bob’s greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Whether gathered around the dinner table or enjoying a day at the golf course, he made every moment count. An avid golfer, Bob found peace and excitement on the greens. He was a long-standing member of the Andover Country Club, where he shared countless rounds and stories with his children, grandchildren, and fellow club members.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathleen Eddy, and their five children: Robert W. Eddy and his wife, Christine; Benjamin Eddy and his wife, Tara; Meredith Cafua and her husband, Greg; Jonathan Eddy and his wif,e Amy; and Nicholas Eddy and his wife, Beth. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jack, Will, Elliot, Harper, Caleb, Laney, Callen, Landon, Quinn, Emilia, Lucy, Harry, and Dylan.

Bob also leaves behind his siblings Susan (Eddy) Lee; Carolyn Eddy Symonick and her husband, Donnie; and Howard Eddy and his wife, Karen. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Brian Eddy, and sister-in-law Susan Eddy.
