Robert R. Andreas Sr., a former member of Bowdoin’s facilities staff, died on January 4, 2018, in Mechanic Falls, Maine.

Robert R. Andreas Sr., 80, of Mechanic Falls, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, at his home. He was born in Catasauqua, Pa., on April 24, 1937, the son of Ralph and Ida Holland Andreas.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. Later, he worked in the maintenance departments at Russell Park Manor, Bowdoin College and Hannaford. He went to Kathy’s Diner every day for the past 12 years for breakfast. He enjoyed watching TV, scratch tickets and playing Quiddler, as well as other card and dice games. He volunteered for hospice and received his five-year volunteer pin in 2014.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Ustach, and her husband, Tom, of Old Orchard Beach; his son, Pastor Robert R. Andreas Jr., and his wife, Sue, of Portageville, N.Y.; his son, Anthony Mark Andreas, and his wife, Kim, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Carol Walker Andreas, in 1979; and his son, Steven Douglas Andreas, in 1982.
