Robert R. Armstrong ’62 died on October 18, 2025, in Lewiston, Maine.

Robert R. Armstrong ’62
Robert (Rob) Rowe Armstrong, 85, of Lewiston passed away at Central Maine Medical Center on Saturday, October 18, 2025, with loved ones by his side.
Born on June 10, 1940, in Framingham, Massachusetts, Rob moved to Saco, Maine, as a young boy, attending Thornton Academy as part of the graduating class of 1958. Later awarded a Maine scholarship, he attended and graduated from Bowdoin College in 1962 and went on to a long career with ExxonMobil as a territory manager.
Rob spent his adult life living on the South Shore of Massachusetts and had a passion for many things such as politics, jazz music, and sports cars. He became actively involved in town politics and various clubs like the Ferrari Club of New England.
After his retirement from ExxonMobil his entrepreneurial spirit led to the startup of several small businesses, most notably as the owner/president of Pioneer Medical Systems, which later became part of Life Alert Emergency Response, Inc.
He is survived by his two children: Emily Vena, husband Rick Vena, and granddaughter Naima, of Richmond, California; and Robert Armstrong, wife Stephanie Armstrong, and grandson Carson, of Hebron, Maine, and friends (ex-wives) Connie Armstrong of Hebron, Maine, and Kate Armstrong of Barnstable, Massachusetts.
