Roy E. Weymouth Jr. ’61, former Bowdoin physician and medical director, died June 19, 2013, at his home on Bailey Island. He was born on September 8, 1939, in Fitchburg, Mass., and graduated from Fitchburg High School. He was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity. He went on to graduate from the Tufts University School of Medicine in 1965. He served to lieutenant commander in the Navy as a physician at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune, N.C., from 1965 to 1966, and as senior medical officer of Parris Island, S.C., from 1991 to 1994. He held several positions during his career, including physician at Orthopedics Associates, staff physician for several U. S. Soccer Federation National Teams, and medical director and physician for Bowdoin College, Phillips Academy Andover, and Carleton and St. Olaf Colleges. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Sally Shaffer Weymouth; son David Clark Weymouth; daughter Laura Lynn Weymouth Horne, and four grandchildren.
