Taryn Lindsey King ’07

Taryn Lindsey King ’07 died on January 28, 2006, in Galway, Ireland, following a brief illness while studying abroad at the National University of Ireland.

Born on November 2, 1984, in Boston, she prepared for college at the Brooks School in North Andover, MA, and the Shore Country Day School in Beverly, MA. She was majoring in psychology at Bowdoin, where she played field hockey and was named New England Small College Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and its 2005 Player of the Year, as well as being named a First Team All-American and Division III Player of the Year. She also played women’s lacrosse, was a volunteer at the Children’s Center at Bowdoin, and was an accomplished pianist. Surviving are her parents, Paul and Janice Chasse King of Georgetown, MA; two sisters, Brittany King and Olivia King; two brothers, Pierce King and Maximilian King; her maternal grandparents, Ralph G. and Dolores Allain Chasse of East Falmouth, MA; and her paternal grandmother, Phyllis Crotty King of Lowell, MA.
