Brevard – Tim Robinson, age 82, passed away, surrounded by his family on April 27, 2025. He leaves behind his wife of fifty-seven years, Elizabeth McNairy Robinson, and three daughters, Jill Robinson Bell, Amanda Overmyer, and Laura Jane Tay and sons-in-law Jay Overymyer and Roger Yob. He has seven grandchildren and was beloved older brother to Martha McDowell and Peter Robinson.

Tim was a veteran of the Coast Guard Reserves, enlisting in 1967 and discharged in 1973. He attended Bowdoin College where he was an All-American swimmer and held captain duties his senior year. He also earned a master’s degree from the University of Maine.

Tim was a natural leader and problem solver but liked to be in the background and out of the spotlight. He was very civic-minded and did lots of volunteering over the years, including Meals on Wheels, United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and traveled to New Orleans, not once, but three times for Hurricane Katrina relief work. He loved attending First United Methodist Church of Brevard most recently, and sang in four church choirs over the years. His duties as president of the College Walk Residents Association kept him busy and allowed him to put his love of talking to and learning about others to good use right up until two months before he passed away. He was an extremely skilled communicator, very charismatic and kind, truly interested in other people and what made them tick.

His love for his family was immeasurable and nothing was more enjoyable for him than watching and supporting his kids and then grandkids in their sports endeavors. Lake George, New York, always held a special place in Tim’s heart, as he grew up there in the summers and he remained a man who loved the outdoors, camping, and annual fishing trips with his brother, nephews, and friends all his life. Those of us who love him know all the rest.
