Allen W. Hale ’66 died on October 5, 2025, in Summerville, South Carolina.

Allen W. Hale ’66

Allen W. Hale, formerly of Fairfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 5, 2025, after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Wallace, his brother, Robert Hale, of Middleboro, Massachusetts, and several cousins and dear friends. Allen graduated from Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine; Boston College School of Law, and Boston University School of Taxation. He proudly served as a captain in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1973. Allen worked as an attorney in Boston; relocated to Seattle, where he was general manager and treasurer of Ultra Poly Inc., Tacoma, Washington. In 1988, Allen settled in Connecticut and began his career in banking, working as vice president and trust manager at JP Morgan Chase & Co. He continued his career at Bank of America and Webster Bank in similar positions. As retirement neared, Allen worked at People’s United Bank as vice president, compliance officer. Allen loved traveling (visiting forty-eight countries), piloting small planes, skiing, reading U.S. History, and exercising. When he and Suzanne retired, they relocated to the Del Webb community in Summerville, South Carolina. Happiness was leaving behind high taxes and freezing cold weather.
