Pennswood Village Resident Bruce V. MacLeod, age 76, of Newtown, formerly of Glenside, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Born in Boston on January 16, 1933, he was the youngest of five children to Gordon K. and Margaret (Driscoll) MacLeod. Bruce received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Maine. He then went on to receive his master’s degree in business administration at Yale and his PhD at Case Western Reserve University. He was a professor and, for fifteen years, the dean of the Business School at LaSalle University. Bruce was a member of the Religious Society of Friends for thirty-five years. After LaSalle, he was actively involved in consulting work with many non-profit organizations. He loved tennis and spending summers at the family cottage in Maine. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Eleanor Inouye MacLeod; his loving children James C., Jennifer A. Murray, Bruce B., Anne J. Shoemaker, Claire M. Ohman, and Mark K. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and his sister, Mary Kennedy.
