Byron Y. Arnold G’63 died on February 2, 2000, in San Diego, California.

Former Hastings resident Byron Y. Arnold, 74, of San Diego died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at his home.

The remains were cremated.

Mr. Arnold was born Feb. 16, 1925, to James and Alda (Burroughs) Arnold in Red Cloud. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1943 and from Hastings College in 1951. He served in the U.S. Maritime Service and the U.S. Army Paratroopers during World War II. He then taught at Hastings Junior and Senior high schools and at Mission Bay High School in San Diego.

Survivors are three sisters, Jean Koch of Hastings, Gwen Hickins of San Diego and Lucille Ulman of Hemet, Calif.

He was preceded in death by one brother.
