Clayton D. Bennett ’59 died February 27, 2014, at his home in Dexter. He was born on April 24, 1937, in Dexter, and he graduated from Dexter High School. He was a member of the Meddiebempsters and president of Psi Upsilon fraternity. He went on to earn a master’s degree from the University of Maine in 1971. He taught at schools in Sag Harbor, N.Y., and Pittsfield for thirty-seven years. He is survived by his wife, Judith Grey Bennett; daughters Michelle Custer ’82 and Marice Bennett ’83; son Clayton Bennett Jr.; stepsons Tal, Scott, Kurt, Jason, and Joseph Lancaster; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother Gary Bennett; and sister Barbie Haskell.
