Condolences to Consuelo. Mickey was a good friend for many years, and I am sorry to hear of his passing.

Dr. Shatney became a friend of mine when I was a medical device rep covering San Jose Med Ctr. He was always helpful, informative, fun — a great teacher. I just got curious tonight and decided to see if I could find him online. It had been years since he and Consuelo moved from the area. Consuelo, I am so sorry for your loss. I did not expect to find this.

I was a surgery resident at Stanford University from 1990 through 1995. At that time Dr. Clayton Shatney was an Attending Surgeon at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Dr. Shatney was an avid educator, knowledgeable physician, and a skilled surgeon. He loved sugery & taking care of his patients. He had a good sense of humor & enjoyed telling jokes. I learned a lot from him. May God bless his soul.
