David R. Rounesville ’44

David R. Rounesville ’44 died on September 19, 2020 in Clifton, New Jersey.

David Robinson Rounseville, 98, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020, from aspiration pneumonia and sepsis. David was born February 8, 1922, and was the youngest of four sons of Dr. and Mrs. Rounseville of Attleboro, Massachusetts.

David graduated Bowdoin College in Maine with a B.S. and received his M.D. from Tufts Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts.

David enlisted in the Navy during WWII. He was assigned to the medical corps and was stationed on the Solomon Islands in the Pacific.

David was an excellent anesthesiologist, general practitioner and medical diagnostician. He practiced at St. Mary’s Hospital, Hoboken, New Jersey, for fifty years. He was the recipient of the Golden Merit Award for fifty years of medical service. He held a general practice from his home in Weehawken, New Jersey.

David loved golf, swimming, sailing, reading, Cape Cod, and the Patriots football team! He valued being productive; he was never idle.

David is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of fifty years, Olga Rounseville.

David is survived by children Deborah Jarvis and husband, Stephen Jarvis; LouAnn Rounseville; Kathleen Tozer Steinberg (predeceased); Raymond Ryan; Robert Ryan Rounseville; grandchildren Samantha Meehan, Elizabeth Tozer Reyer and husband, Richard Reyer, Timothy M. Meehan and wif,e Rupa Boddu, Christina Tozer, Shannon M. Meehan, and Rachel Rounseville. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
