Diane J. Swiss ’79 died on January 30, 2011, in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

She was born on April 24, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from Newburyport High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the winner of a gold medal in Advanced Placement biology and a bronze medal in Advanced Placement American history. She studied osteopathy at the University of New England. She is survived by her sister, Deborah J. Swiss ’74.
