Edward R. Murphy, 85, of Hartsdale, NY, died peacefully near Miami on March 2, 2014, after a long good-bye. Born on March 4, 1928, in Providence, RI, graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine, and stationed with the U.S. Army 1st cavalry Division in Korea, Murphy worked for many years as a district manager for Novartis, where he advocated for women in business. He was a generous friend to many and the devoted husband of Joan, who died in 2008. Relatives include the Borg family of Greater Miami, and the Shea/Bloom family of Greenwich, CT. Internment is with Joan at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Brookline, MA.
