Ernest G. Flint Jr. ’56 died on April 12, 2011, in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Ernest G. Flint Jr., of Beverly, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.

Born in Beverly on Jan. 24, 1934, he was the son of the late Ernest G. and Ruth J. Flint. He attended Beverly High School and in 1956, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts cum laude degree from Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine.

He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned a masters degree in chemistry from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. in 1959. Early in his professional life, Mr. Flint was a chemist and a computer programmer. He was a technical writer and editor for most of his career. He loved art all his life and was an amateur artist.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara F. Myer of Woodbridge, Va.; a niece and nephew; and a grandniece and grandnephew.
