Francis W. “Skip” Gorham, Jr. ’54 died on June 29, 2011, in Niantic, Connecticut.
He was born June 1, 1931, in Chicopee, Mass., son of the late Francis W. Gorham ’24, and prepared for college at Springfield (Mass.) Classical High School, where he was a star of the track team. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity, and served to second lieutenant in the Marine Corps. He graduated from Boston College School of Law in 1959. He was an attorney for Murphy & Beane, Attorneys at Law, in Boston and New London, Conn. He was an active member in the local chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, fulfilling many roles, including president. He is survived by three sons, Stephen, Kevin, and Francis Gorham III; two daughters, Catherine Gorham and Darcy Chmielewski; and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by Marcia Ruus Gorham, his wife of 59 years, in 2007.
