Frederick O. Toothaker died on November 19, 2021, in Harpswell, Maine

Frederick O. Toothaker

Harpswell—Frederick O. Toothaker, age 86, died at his home on Friday, November 19, 2021. He was born September 11, 1935. in Brunswick a son of Stanley and Frances Sweeney Toothaker. He married Venona Lillian Darling on April 6, 1957. Mrs. Toothaker died in 2007. Fred served Bowdoin College for thirty-two years. He was loved by all who came into his life, especially college presidents who wanted Fred as a personal employee. He was the ultimate animal lover, whether it was saving a bird or a deer, it didn’t matter. He would have opened his home and care to a gorilla if ever he had been given the chance. He was a member of the Great Island Church of the Nazarene of which he helped build. The church was his home where he greeted everyone with open arms, and lead in song along with his brother and sister whom he loved. He was predeceased by his wife, Venona; and two brothers, Rudolph Toothaker and Earl Toothaker. He is survived by five sons, David Toothaker and his wife, Joanne, Earl Toothaker and his wife, Linda, Duane Toothaker and his wife, Brenda, Shawn Toothaker, and Randy Parker; two daughters, Susan Morgan and Sharon Pooley and her husband, Phillip; and a brother, Alcott Darling.
