George H. Hetley, Jr. ’58 died on October 24, 2025, in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

George H. Hetley, Jr. ’58

George Harrison Hetley, Jr., 89, of Little River, South Carolina, passed away into God’s graces on 24 October 2025, after a brief illness and Alzheimer’s disease.

George was predeceased by his parents, George and Grace, his sister, Margaret, his wife Carolyn, his daughter, Elizabeth, and grandson Andrew. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Renee; son-in-law Mike Bryan; and four grandchildren.

George was born in Lockport, New York. He graduated from Bowdoin College and obtained a master’s degree from Worcester Polytechnical Institute. He was a physicist, a professor, a mathematician, and a specialized U.S. government employee.
