Gilbert E. Zatkin ’62 died on July 7, 2023, in Annapolis, Maryland.

Gilbert “Gil” E. Zatkin, 82, of Severna Park, passed away on July 7, 2023, at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He was born on June 17, 1941, in New York City, NY to George and Violet Zatkin. Gil grew up in Forest Hills, NY. He attended Bowdoin College, The University of New Hampshire, and The University of Maryland, ultimately earning his PhD in psychology. Gil would go on to enjoy a lengthy career with the State of Maryland as a clinical psychologist.
In his spare time, Gil enjoyed reading, playing piano, visiting the beach with his beloved wife, golfing, playing scrabble, and hanging out with his dogs. Gil adored his children and grandchildren and liked nothing more than to spend time with them. He was a genuine animal lover, as well as a life-long Democrat and supporter of the Democratic Party.
Gil is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-four years, Debra; three loving children, Laura Wittmer of Sandy Hook, CT, Lisa Moss of Spring City, PA, Hannah Thomas, of Arnold, MD; five grandchildren, Madison and Jordan Wittmer, Kayla and Riley Moss, and Noah Zatkin-Pena; and a sister, Zita Dresner, of Lewes, DE.
