Gregory W. Nevens ’72

Gregory Warner Nevens, age 67, passed away on December 19, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. Greg is survived by his beloved family, wife Deborah and daughters Victoria (Tory) and Maia Nevens.

He completed high school at St. Marks school, obtained an undergraduate degree at Bowdoin College, a master’s degree at Vanderbilt University and a doctoral degree in Counseling Education from the University of Maine.

Professionally, Dr. Nevens was a practicing psychologist for over 30 years with specialties in chronic pain and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He was developing a treatment protocol for PTSD at the time of his death.

In addition to his clinical practice Dr. Nevens was honored to teach medical students at the University of New England. His students were a source of great inspiration for him.

Dr. Gregory Nevens was a husband, father, gifted psychologist, researcher and teacher, he will be profoundly missed
