H. James Williams, Jr. ’55 died on October 31, 2017, in Hingham, Massachusetts.

H. James Williams Jr. died Oct. 31, 2017. Born and raised in Braintree, Jim served as town meeting member and on the finance committee, and was part of the group that chose the location for “New” Braintree High School site. He was a graduate of Bowdoin College as a finance major, was on the swim team and was steward of Chi Psi fraternity. Stationed in France for two years while in the Army, he enjoyed traveling all over Europe with his wife. He attended Rutgers University for an advanced banking degree; his career was with Bank of Boston, including managing the West Roxbury branch, and he was past president of Kiwanis Club. Jim spent vacations in Pocasset, enjoying boating, biking, and swimming with family, and more recently lived in Hingham. Predeceased by his sister Janet, he leaves brother, John (wife Gertrude) of Hawaii. Married sixty-one years to Alice “Pinkie” (Crovo) whom he met at a Falmouth beach as a lifeguard, he leaves their five children, Wendy of Bradford, RI, Jay (wife Terri-lyn) of Bedford, NH, Ginny (wife Rose) of Arlington, Marsha (husband Karl) of Quincy and Michelle (husband Jason) of Lunenburg. Jim, a.k.a. Grampy leaves many grandchildren, Autumn (partner Jared), Britlyn (partner Braxton), Jason (wife Kristen); Marisa (partner Harold), Natali, Chantelle, Maddie, Zack, Jake, Liz, Aodhan and one great-granddaughter, Tessa.
