John C. Morris ’56 died on February 24, 2017, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.

Glen Ridge resident John C. Morris, 89, passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at home in Glen Ridge, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life at the O’Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St., Bloomfield, N.J., on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment was private. Please express condolences at oboylefuneralhome.com Born in Boston, Mass., Mr. Morris lived in New England, and for the last 44 years in Glen Ridge. He retired form Bell Telephone many years ago. He was a longtime member of the Nutley Tennis Club. John was a graduate and generous benefactor of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He was the husband of the late Lizann Dailey Morris; stepfather of Julie Cantill O’Connor and her husband, Brian Silvoy, and grandfather of Ryan and Gavin Dailey O’Connor.
