John Paul Leahy ’58 died on November 27, 2019, in Sandwich, Massachuttes.

Leahy, John “Paul”, 83, of Sandwich, MA, died peacefully at home on November 27, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 19th, 1936 to John Joseph and Elizabeth Nora (Donahue) Leahy in Somerville, MA.

Paul grew up in Wellesley, MA where he attended Wellesley High School. He graduated from Bowdoin and MIT where he received his MBA. In 1962, Paul rejoined Norton Company in Worcester, MA as a financial analyst for their Refractories Division. Paul met Carol in Bass River in the summer of 1956 and married in August of 1961. Paul was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and boating. Paul was an active member of the Catholic church. Paul’s career took him to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1979 to become Senior Vice President for Christensen Diamond Company. They remained in Salt Lake for 14 years, then moved to Houston for 18 months to run the finance division at Baker Hughes. Shortly thereafter, Paul and Carol retired to Anacortes, WA where they lived for 17 more years. For many years he was a member and commodore of the Fidalgo Yacht Club in Anacortes. Paul and Carol decided to move to Cape Cod after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary to be closer to their extended families. They settled in Sandwich, MA in 2011. He is survived by his wife Caroline Leahy of Sandwich, MA, his daughter Jean Klepacki (and Andy) of Hadley, MA, his son William Leahy (and Lauren) of Seattle, WA, his sister Marcia Crago (and Arthur), and his grandchildren, Avery and Marc Klepacki and Hannah and Sam Leahy.
