On Tuesday, September 27, 2022, Jonathan R. Prescott, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away at the age of 69. Born to Lee and Alice Prescott in Waterbury, CT on November 23rd, 1952, he was the oldest of 10 children. In the sixth grade he met Rachel Parkhurst whom he would date in high school and marry in college. In 1975 he graduated Bowdoin College with a B.S. in Physics. He also began to work with computers and programming and combined it with his knowledge and love of physics to develop new systems and testing environments for all branches of the US military, most for the Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard.
Space and astronomy were passions for him and he would always try to catch the latest celestial events or important launches and missions from NASA. It’s no surprise that he was also a fan of Star Trek and made sure to watch ever show and movie and read most of the books. He was also fan of comic books, Superman especially. Reading was also an important hobby and he had a large library fiction and non-fiction, though sci-fi was prevalent.
He is survived by his three children, Katherine, Victoria, and William, son-in-law Mark, and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Abigail. His wife, Rachel, joined him once more, passing three months later.
