Joseph R. Robinson ’53

Joseph R. Robinson ’53 died on June 5, 2009, in St. Petersburg, Florida, after a long illness.

He was born in Lincoln, Maine, on August 17, 1931, and prepared for college at Loomis School in Windsor, Conn. He attended Bowdoin from 1949 to 1951, a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He joined the Air Force in 1952 and served as a senior personnel specialist in Alaska. In the 1960s, he worked  at Kaman Aircraft writing technical handbooks for the military. He served as an elder in the Midtown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Robinson; three daughters, Kathleen Perry, Cynthia Woods, and Judith Ellis; a son, Thomas; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his youngest child, Kenneth.
